Stir to Action: Workshop Programme

The next stage for Stir to Action is to host a six-month programme of two-day training workshops — intense and involved — facilitated by some of our inspiring and innovative magazine contributors from the last few years. So from March to September 2015, we’ll be running a series of 12 workshops in beautiful Bridport, Dorset, where the magazine is based.

Throughout most of human history, people have lived in deep relation to the meaning expressed in the public life of their societies.

The spirit of the people is demonstrated in our common institutions, through which we define our identity.

We are what we are in virtue of participating in the larger life of society. How do we reconcile the individual and society?

All evolution is done collectively. It is not about individualism, it is about the group dynamic of individuals acting collectively, but voluntarily.

Freed up creativity enabled by open source technology gives us the chance to liberate ourselves from the chains of an outdated economic model based on market pricing.

Will it enable us to co-create a commons orientated contributory culture? 

Our challenge is how to make the new prototype which cannot fully socially reproduce itself at present into a full mode of production for a sustainable society.
