I'm involved in the sharing movement in the Bay Area. I have several books on Simplicity and a forthcoming book Living Room Revolution: A Handbook for Conversation, Community, and the Common Good.
What commons areas or issues are you involved with or interested in
I'm interested in sharing and education. I work in the tradition of Highlander Center (where Rosa Parks was trained) in "people's education" -- bringing people together in collaborative conversation to make a difference for people and the planet. I've developed simplicity study circles in the past and am now working with the Happiness Initiative with Pursuit of Happiness Circles. As John Dewey said, "Democracy is born in conversation."
What else would you like to share about yourself with other commoners
I have my doctorate in education from Stanford and worked as an administrator in a community college. My focus now is "community education" -- education "by the people, for the people, and of the people."
